FUNCTION

Lead strategic sourcing activities for logistics services and other indirect materials and services for Wrigley North America.

 

SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES

The Wrigley North America Procurement team is responsible for identifying and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives that contribute to three strategic imperatives:  1) cost containment, 2) ensure fulfillment and 3) drive revenue.  In this role, the incumbent will manage in excess of $70MM in categories that include, but are not limited to, truckload, less than truckload (LTL), air, ocean and small parcel freight.  This position may also support other regional indirect materials and services categories such as factory services, fleet or office supplies.



Responsibilities:
  • Performs spend analysis and develops sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, process improvement and supplier management.
  • Strategically sources logistic services and other indirect materials and services for the region utilizing the WSSM (Wrigley Strategic Sourcing Methodology) process. 
  • Implements supplier relationship management strategies that will ensure ongoing cost improvements, on time delivery, quality and service.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Works to identify and implement sustainability and technology projects.
  • Research and partner with minority and women owned business partners that will become long term strategic suppliers to Wrigley.
  • Utilizes e-sourcing as a key enabler for contract management and for RFX events.
  • Collaborates with other business units to identify and implement synergistic savings initiatives.
  • Leverages best practices for logistics services and indirect procurement.


Requirements:

Years of Experience:       3-5 years sourcing/supply management experience or category specific expertise with a proven track record of success

 

Degree(s):                          Undergraduate degree required – preferably in Procurement, Materials Management, Logistics, Engineering or Finance

 

Language Fluency:           Fluent in English

 

Technical Competencies:             

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently, not requiring a high degree of guidance; exceptional leadership skills.
  • Must have the ability to work with all levels of management, including senior executives.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn strategic sourcing, if not currently trained.
  • Project management and team building skills.
  • Ability to deliver results through cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong communication (oral and written).   
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deliver results via influence; excellent persuasion and consensus building skills.
  • Negotiation and change management skills.
  • Ability to travel 15-20% of time, including global travel.
