OBJECTIVE

The objective of Wrigley's Finance Development Program (FDP) is to provide newly hired college graduates with the critical finance and accounting skills and experiences from which they can develop into more senior roles in the organization.

The program is designed to provide exposure to certain key finance and accounting areas during the first 2 years of an associate's career.  This is followed by a 2 to 3 year rotation through a Budgeting and Analysis group within one of the business units or within one of the Corporate groups.

At the end of an associates first 4 to 5 years, he or she will have obtained a common and critical set of technical, systems and business experiences that enable them to move into more advanced finance positions.  These could include, among others:

  • Senior Analyst or Supervisor within one of the U.S. Business Units;
  • Financial Shared Services group Supervisor;
  • Internal Audit Supervisor

Through both on-the-job experiences and other training opportunities outlined below, the associate will also have further developed their oral and written communication skills, team leadership abilities and overall general business acumen.

Responsibilities:

THE FIRST TWO YEARS

This begins with an initial assignment in either the Corporate Controller's group, or within the Financial Shared Services group:

  • Corporate Controllers Dept. Analyst - the associate gains exposure to corporate consolidations, internal management reporting and external reporting. Critical experiences include exposure to overall corporate reporting and analysis; familiarity with the Company's worldwide operations; and in-depth knowledge of the corporate consolidations system (Hyperion). These activities will include exposure to the Corporate Controller and CFO.
  • Financial Shared Services Reporting Analyst - the associate gains exposure to: Parent Company accounting and reporting; balance sheet reconciliation and basic control concepts; SAP processes, including all aspects of the monthly closing and reporting from SAP to Hyperion. This more intensive SAP experience provides critical hands on experience that the analyst will leverage in more senior positions - both in support of in-depth analyses and in the support and design of business processes that help drive efficiencies through further leveraging of the Company's system capabilities.

Over the course of the first two years the company strives to provide rotational and/or ad-hoc opportunities to gain experience across as many of the above areas as possible.
